Group History#
Our group originally started in the early 2000’s and split into two groups in 2014. Our present group, HIBIKIYA, is headed by our sensei who started the original group.
Founding Inspiration#
Our sensei is an honorary member of two taiko groups in Japan and he started our group.
Notable History#
- We perform each year at Omatsuri in Calgary.
- We performed for the Princess of Japan when she visited Lethbridge.
- We have performed at the Yates and Sterndale Bennett theatres in Lethbridge.
- We have done many school workshops and a few workshops for the community."
Future Goals and Values#
Our focus right now is to try to get new members to join.

Our songs are mainly gifted to our sensei from a group in Japan that he is an honorary member of.
