Group History#
SkyFire Taiko is Canada’s northernmost taiko ensemble. Inspired by the energy and interplay of the northern lights, SkyFire Taiko is lead by Nancy Mullick who has been playing taiko since 2009.
Founding Inspiration#
SkyFire Taiko was officially founded after a community demonstration when we were invited to perform at a local event. We needed a name! We took our inspiration from the northern lights, which are beautiful and abundant in the North.
