ASL Taiko Terms#
Thank you to Deidre Hase and Jim Coleman with assistance from Michaela McKennitt for their production of this video on American Sign Language (ASL) for taiko. They are from Genki Taiko, the recreational branch of Hinode Taiko. From their website: Beginning in the 2010s, Genki Daiko developed ties with the Winnipeg Deaf and hard of hearing community. Constantly striving to provide a welcoming and accessible environment for drummers, these connections have pushed the group to evaluate how taiko can be taught, practiced, and performed in inclusive ways.
